Condition: Item is used in good condition commensurate with age, see photos. Some light surface wear and light damage to painted design. Original to manufacture glaze defect.
Subject: Seto ceramic bottle with heavy enamel painted designs of Hotei (one of the Japanese Seven Lucky Gods of Good Fortune aka Budai aka the Fat Buddha) with a karako attendant (Chinese style child) with a design on the reverse of a monk in yellow who should be praying but is playing with a piebald dog (see photos for a ceramic netsuke by Miura Kenya with a similar design - on one side the monk has an eye closed and is in prayer, on the other side he's seen playing with a hidden dog). At the foot of the monk is a white rat (nezumi) with a loop of string being held by Hotei.
