Condition: Item is used in good condition commensurate with age, see photos. Surface crazing (craquelure) on lid. No cracks or chips. Some light surface wear.
Subject: Lidded bowl painted with designs of six sages in a bamboo grove (possibly related to the theme of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove), together with two karako attendants, and a crane (tsuru - a symbol of longevity), Note the XO design around the base of the bowl and the lid.
