昭和55年頃から佐藤学氏、横倉建(正氏の弟)に益子焼を学び始める
平成 8年 素人陶芸展に手びねり河童を出展し入選
平成 9年 栃木県湯西川「かっぱ大祭」に河童20点出品
宇都宮「木馬館ギャラリー」にて初個展
平成10年 益子で工房設立「河童窯」
福島県「会津中合デパート8Fギャラリー」にて個展
平成11年 土岐市「ユニーク河童展」入選
益子にて「益子焼河童館」開館
個展を2回開催

Folk Craft Yokokura Kappa Kiln
Born in Mashiko on April 13, 1944.
Around 1980, he began learning Mashiko pottery from Sato Manabu and Yokokura Ken (Masa's younger brother).
1996: Exhibited hand-made kappa at an amateur pottery exhibition and won a prize. 1997:
Exhibited 20 kappa at the Kappa Festival in Yunishigawa, Tochigi Prefecture.
First solo exhibition at the Mokubakan Gallery in Utsunomiya.
1998: Established a studio in Mashiko called Kappa Kiln and held
a solo exhibition at the Aizu Nakago Department Store 8F Gallery in Fukushima Prefecture.
1999: Selected for the Unique Kappa Exhibition in Toki City.
Opened the Mashiko Pottery Kappa Museum in Mashiko and
held two solo exhibitions.
2000: Solo exhibition at the Aizu Nakago Department Store 8F Gallery in Fukushima Prefecture. 2004:
Solo exhibition at Yamani Otsuka in Mashiko.

Collected: Bought from Tadashi Yokokura at his shop in Mashiko, Japan, 29 MAR 2020 (the same day Tokyo had a very rare snowfall during cherry blossom (sakura) season).
Condition: Item is used in good condition commensurate with age, see photos. No cracks or chips.
Subject: Cone-shaped trick sake cup (the trick is you can't set it down a table without spilling it), with a sculpted kappa yokai hanging onto the side of the cup.
