Condition: Damage to side of Kiyohime's face and arm
Subject: Kiyohime, transformed into a monstrous serpent with the face of a Hannya demon, coiled around a temple bell. Visible inside the temple bell is the red face of the priest Anchin. When the top of the bell is turned, a white-faced Anchin is revealed inside the bell, surrounded by flames. The netsuke is signed Minkoku and is attributed to the 18th century carver Minkoku Genryosai. The rotating interior of this netsuke makes it a "trick netsuke".
