Age: Edo Period (1603 - 1868), Early 18th C. (1700s)
Origin/Maker: Kakiemon Arita ware, possibly Sakaida Kakiemon. Marked on base with Chinese style Kangxi "Qi Yu Bao Ding Zhi Zhen" mark. This mark was used in China from 1661 - 1722, but Chinese marks were often copied by Japanese artists to give a sense of importance.

Condition: Item is used in good condition commensurate with age, see photos. No cracks or chips. Original to manufacture stilt mark on base, a feature of old Japanese porcelain.
Subject: Decorated with designs of branches of plum (prunus) blossoms and sheaths of wheat, rice, or grass in overglaze red, green, and yellow and underglaze blue. Scalloped edge with a light brown glaze.
