Age: Early 1900s. Meiji Period (1868 - 1912) or Taisho Period (1912 - 1926)
Origin/Maker: Sumida ware (sometimes called Sumidagawa ware). Two character maker's mark for INOUE RYOSAI on base. Sumida ware was from Asakusa in Tokyo (near the Sumida river), and they later moved to Yokohama in 1924.

Condition: Item is used in good condition commensurate with age, see photos. Some wear to painted designs. One or more small chips.
Subject: Decorated with raised designs in relief of a boy and a gourd (hyotan). Partially painted and partially decorated with a flambe glaze.
