Condition: Item is used in poor condition commensurate with age, see photos. Large repaired chip to lid. Woven handle appears original but is in poor condition.
Subject: Design of phoenix birds (ho-o) among scrolling arabesque style vines (tako karakusa) in underglaze blue and white (sometsuke). Five sculpted feet in design of Karako (children with Chinese style hair and clothes). With sculpted flower shaped handle on lid.
